1. Who we are Deskly is operated by WowzaHosting. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the platform, except where a freelancer uses the desk to support their own clients — in that case the freelancer is the controller of their client data and we act as processor on their behalf.

2. Data we collect - Account data — name, email address, login credentials, avatar, company. - Freelancer profile data — headline, bio, skills, location, website, hourly rate. - Marketplace data — listings, orders, briefs, deliverables, reviews. - Support data — tickets, messages, internal notes, file attachments. - Financial data — wallet ledger entries, order amounts, membership status, payout records. Card and billing details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us. - Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, log and usage/telemetry data.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis - Creating and administering your account, and providing the desk and marketplace — *performance of a contract*. - Processing orders, escrow, memberships and payouts — *performance of a contract* and *legal obligation*. - Security, fraud prevention and abuse detection — *legitimate interests*. - Customer support and service communications — *performance of a contract*. - Product analytics and improvement — *legitimate interests*. - Marketing emails — *consent*, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Who we share it with - Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, storage, email delivery, analytics and support tooling. - Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sale of our products, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. - Other users, only as necessary: a buyer and seller see each other's order and ticket details; assigned agents see the tickets they handle. - Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

5. International transfers Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Retention We keep account, order and financial records for as long as your account is active and afterwards only as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Support tickets and attachments are retained while the owning account exists. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your supervisory authority. We respond within one month. Contact us at privacy@wowzahosting.com.

8. Security We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, row-level access controls so users only reach their own records, private storage for attachments with short-lived signed download links, and role-based access for agents and administrators.

9. Cookies We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. Any analytics or marketing cookies are only set with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time in your browser settings.

10. Children The service is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes We will update this notice as the service evolves; the "last reviewed" date above always reflects the current version.
